AI Has More Disadvantages Than Advantages — Here's the Case

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is software that allows computers to think, learn, and make decisions like humans. While AI can make our lives easier, it also brings major hidden dangers that affect our world, our minds, and our safety. It has more disadvantages than advantages.

AI is also completely destroying our privacy

We might face severe water scarcity in the coming future.

To make AI smarter, tech companies are secretly stealing our personal data, photos, and private conversations to train their machines.

We are no longer treated as people; our private lives are just raw material for AI.

What is Artificial Intelligence?

AI is technology that learns from massive amounts of information. Instead of just following exact instructions from a programmer, AI looks for patterns in data to solve problems, write text, or predict what will happen next.

The serious negative impacts of AI

ImpactWhat's happening
Draining the world's waterData centers need millions of litres of fresh water daily for cooling, straining local supplies
Damaging our mindsApps use behavioral design to keep users hooked, shortening attention spans
Using humans as cheap toolsLow-paid workers in developing countries manually filter disturbing content to train AI
Weapons of mass destructionAutonomous weapons could select targets and act without human control

1. Draining the world's water (water scarcity)

AI does not just live in the cloud; it lives in massive physical data centers packed with computers. These computers run constantly and get incredibly hot. To keep them from melting, they need millions of litres of fresh water every day for cooling. This is creating severe water scarcity, as tech companies take water away from local communities and farms that desperately need it to survive.

2. Damaging our minds

Social media and AI apps use a psychology framework called the BJ Fogg Behavior Model. This model is designed to trick your brain. By studying your data, AI learns exactly what triggers you to stay online. It feeds you endless videos and posts to keep you hooked, leading to what people call brain rotting. This shortens our attention spans, ruins our ability to focus, and stops us from thinking deeply.

3. Using humans as cheap tools

Instead of AI helping humans, humans are being used as cheap tools to fix AI. Because computers do not naturally understand the world, tech companies hire millions of poor workers in developing countries for very low pay. These workers spend hours sorting through violent or disturbing content to teach the AI what is bad. Humans have become the invisible, underpaid mechanics keeping the machines running.

4. Weapons of mass destruction

The most terrifying danger of AI is in warfare. Countries are building autonomous weapons — like drone swarms and missiles — that can choose targets and kill without a human pulling the trigger. If these AI weapons glitch or get hacked, they could start wars on their own and cause mass destruction before any human can stop them.

AI is destroying preserved books

AI companies have run out of text on the internet to train their chatbots, so they are targeting physical libraries. Investigative tracking — including an expose by tech journalists using hidden Apple AirTags — revealed that tech companies are bulk-buying thousands of antique and out-of-print books. Instead of carefully digitizing them to preserve history, these facilities use hydraulic cutters to slice the spines completely off the books. The loose pages are run through high-speed industrial scanners and immediately thrown into trash compactors or shredded. The physical book is permanently destroyed solely to extract its data as quickly as possible.
